Aaqib Javed Reveals the Reason Behind Dropping Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan

Lahore (TASSAWAR NEWS) Former Pakistan fast bowler and renowned coach Aaqib Javed has finally broken his silence on the controversial decision regarding star cricketers Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan. Speaking to the media, Aaqib explained the logic behind why selectors and management have at times considered resting or dropping the two prolific batsmen.

According to Javed, the main reason is team balance and experimentation. He emphasized that while Babar and Rizwan are world-class performers and the backbone of Pakistan’s batting lineup, there are occasions where management needs to test new combinations and fresh talent in order to strengthen the overall squad depth.

“Babar and Rizwan are match-winners. No one questions their ability. But in modern cricket, you need options and backups. Sometimes, dropping senior players is not about their form but about creating opportunities for others to prove themselves,” Aaqib stated.

He further highlighted that Pakistan has often relied too heavily on the duo, which can hurt the team in big tournaments if opponents manage to neutralize them. By rotating players and introducing youngsters, the team can avoid overdependence and build a more dynamic batting order.

The statement sparked mixed reactions among fans. While some supported the idea of giving youngsters a chance, others criticized the notion of sidelining star players at the peak of their careers.

Cricket analysts believe that the debate reflects a broader issue in Pakistan cricket – striking the right balance between experience and youth. As Pakistan prepares for upcoming international assignments, all eyes will be on the selectors to see whether Babar and Rizwan are consistently featured or rested in favor of new faces.
