May 9 Cases: Yasmin Rashid Appeals to Lahore High Court for Suspension of Sentence

Lahore (TASSAWAR News) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and former provincial health minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid has filed appeals in the Lahore High Court against the sentences awarded to her in three cases related to the May 9 incidents.

The petition argues that the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) did not properly evaluate the facts and that the punishments handed down by the trial court were contrary to evidence.

Through her appeals, Dr. Yasmin Rashid has requested the court to suspend her sentences and order her release until a final decision is made.

She has challenged convictions in the Shadman police station attack, the Sherpao Bridge arson case, and the Jinnah House vehicle torching case. The ATC had sentenced her to 10 years in prison in each case.
