Manchester (TASSAWAR NEWS) – Pakistani cricketer Haider Ali has been given a clean chit by Manchester police after authorities concluded that the rape case filed against him lacked credible evidence.
According to officials, investigators reviewed all available material but found no substantial grounds to proceed further. As a result, the charges have been dismissed, and Haider Ali’s passport is being returned to him, restoring his full right to travel in and out of the United Kingdom without restrictions.
The complaint was originally filed by a British-Pakistani woman who alleged that she met Haider Ali at a Manchester hotel on July 23. The cricketer was arrested two weeks later. However, throughout the investigation, Haider Ali consistently maintained his innocence, branding the accusations as false and baseless.
Sources further revealed that the same woman had also met Haider Ali again on August 1 in Ashford, Kent. Despite extended police inquiries, no evidence was found to support the claims.
Haider Ali was legally represented by Barrister Moin Khan and was initially taken into custody from the players’ canteen at Kent’s Spitfire County Cricket Ground. After weeks of scrutiny, the case has now officially been closed, allowing the cricketer to resume his professional and personal commitments.
