Saudi Embassy in Islamabad Holds Blood Donation Drive Inspired by Crown Prince

ISLAMABAD (TASSAWAR NEWS) The Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Islamabad on Wednesday organized a blood donation campaign inspired by the humanitarian vision of Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman Al-Saud, who recently set an example by personally donating blood on August 21, 2024.

The initiative was led by Ambassador Nawaf bin Said Al-Malki, who, following the footsteps of the Crown Prince, donated blood himself at the event. The campaign was held in collaboration with the Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) at the embassy premises.

Ambassador Al-Malki lauded the Crown Prince’s gesture, describing it as a “humanitarian message” that raises awareness about the life-saving importance of voluntary blood donation. He added that the initiative reflects community solidarity, compassion, and sustainable healthcare practices.

The campaign also reflects Saudi Arabia’s growing emphasis on humanitarian and social causes. Similar initiatives were seen during the COVID-19 vaccination campaign and the national organ donation program, with more than 800,000 Saudis donating blood in 2024—a historic milestone in public participation.

Chairperson of PRCS, Farzhana Naek, praised both the Crown Prince and Ambassador Al-Malki for supporting humanitarian causes, stating:

“A single blood donation can save multiple lives by providing blood, plasma, or platelets to patients in need.”

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Naif Al-Otaibi, Press Attaché of the Saudi Embassy, said that blood donation represents the highest form of humanitarian giving and aligns with the Kingdom’s vision of promoting social responsibility and healthcare awareness.

Officials from King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), including Country Director Abdullah Al-Baqami, Media Advisor Dr. Jamal Al-Harbi, and Media Director Mohammed Al-Ali, also participated in the drive by donating blood.
