Pat Cummins Uncertain About Fitness Ahead of Ashes Series

Sydney (TASSAWAR NEWS) Australian cricket captain Pat Cummins has expressed uncertainty over his participation in the upcoming Ashes series due to a back injury.

Injury Concerns

Cummins has been struggling with back soreness since the July tour of the West Indies. Recent scans confirmed bone stress, forcing him to avoid both running and bowling.

The skipper admitted that while he is hopeful of regaining full fitness before the first Test against England in Perth on November 21, doubts remain about whether he can prove his fitness in time.

Rehabilitation & Recovery

Cummins revealed that he plans to begin bowling practice six weeks before the opening Test, but for now, he is following a strict rest-and-recovery routine.

“It’s a wait-and-see policy for now. I have to completely rest for the next few weeks — no running and no bowling,” he said at a recent event.

Possible Replacements

If Cummins fails to recover, Scott Boland is likely to step in, joining an attack already featuring Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, and Nathan Lyon.
