Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar Visits Wazirabad to Condole the Death of Chaudhry Javed Chattha

WAZIRABAD  (ٔTassawar News) Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar visited Wazirabad on Saturday to offer condolences over the passing of Chaudhry Javed Chattha, brother-in-law of Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and brother-in-law of Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi.

The minister was accompanied by his brother, Chaudhry Bilal Farooq Tarar, who is the PML-N candidate for the upcoming Wazirabad by-elections, and MPA Adnan Afzal Chattha. Attaullah Tarar expressed deep sorrow over the demise and prayed for the departed soul, extending sympathies to the bereaved family.

Speaking to media representatives, the minister said that both the federal and provincial governments are taking effective measures to assist flood-affected families across Punjab. He added that the relief in electricity bills is a clear example of the government’s efforts, while assessments are also underway to evaluate losses to crops, livestock, and property. He assured that comprehensive rehabilitation packages will soon be announced for the affected communities.

Commenting on the banned Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP), Tarar said that the Punjab government has submitted substantial evidence to the federal cabinet showing the group’s involvement in violent activities. He condemned the killing of a Punjab Police SHO in Muridke, who was shot 21 times during an operation.

The minister recalled that the TLP had earlier signed a peace agreement with the PTI government, promising to refrain from violence, yet continued to violate that commitment.

Addressing a separate query, Tarar criticized the Punjab Chief Minister, saying the office should focus on public welfare and governance, not “photo sessions or publicity stunts.” He emphasized that genuine leadership means improving citizens’ lives through projects like Clean Punjab (Suthra Punjab).

In his concluding remarks, Tarar fondly remembered the late Chaudhry Javed Chattha, saying he had known him since 1992 and shared a long-standing family friendship. He prayed for the departed soul and patience for the bereaved family.
