Hadiqa Kiani Urges Evacuation as Punjab Floods Intensify

Renowned singer and humanitarian Hadiqa Kiani has issued an urgent appeal to residents near the Ravi, Sutlej, and Chenab rivers to evacuate immediately as floods worsen across Punjab.

In a video message on Instagram, Kiani pleaded with communities not to ignore official warnings: “Please don’t take this lightly—move to safer places with your families and belongings.”

Authorities have already launched mass evacuation operations. The military is active in at least eight districts, including Lahore, Kasur, and Narowal. So far, over 150,000 people and 35,000 livestock have been relocated.

Experts link the disaster to torrential monsoon rains and water releases from Indian dams, which have destroyed farmland and claimed a rising humanitarian toll. According to the UN, Pakistan’s 2025 monsoon death toll is nearly three times higher than last year.

Kiani, known for her relief work through the Vaseela campaign, is once again leveraging her platform to raise awareness and mobilize support. Relief organisations are actively seeking donations to aid flood-hit families.
