Pune, (TASSAWAR NEWS) Popular Indian television actor Ashish Kapoor has been arrested by police in Pune on charges of sexual assault.
Authorities confirmed that the actor was taken into custody following a complaint lodged by a woman who alleged that Kapoor sexually assaulted her during a house party in Delhi earlier in August.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (North) Raja Banthia stated that a case was registered in Delhi after the woman’s complaint, and a police team had been tracking Kapoor across states.
According to police, the accused first traveled to Goa, and later to Pune, where he was eventually arrested.
Ashish Kapoor rose to fame through the popular television drama “Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai.”
