Tehran (Tassawar News): Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has declared that the United States is attempting to impose its will on Iran, a move that Tehran “will never accept.” Speaking at a press briefing in Tehran, Araghchi outlined Iran’s stance on negotiations, nuclear rights, and regional diplomacy.
Iran Ready for Dialogue, Not Pressure
The minister emphasized that Iran remains open to constructive dialogue but will not engage under external threats or political coercion.
“Iran has never turned its back on negotiations,” Araghchi said. “But we will not allow any country to dictate its terms to us. The U.S. has never been a reliable partner, yet dialogue remains possible if based on mutual respect.”
He further noted that Iran’s uranium enrichment program is a sovereign right recognized under international law and cannot be halted by foreign powers.
Nuclear Talks and Diplomatic Stalemate
The remarks come amid renewed discussions around reviving the nuclear framework that was strained after the U.S. withdrawal from the JCPOA (Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action) in 2018. Washington has expressed interest in re-engaging, but Tehran insists that any agreement must include guarantees against future sanctions and respect for Iran’s economic sovereignty.
Analysts suggest Araghchi’s comments signal Tehran’s cautious openness to diplomacy — balancing negotiation readiness with firm resistance to unilateral demands.
Regional and Global Implications
Observers note that Iran’s position could influence broader Middle East stability, especially in relation to energy security and regional trade. European countries and China have also urged both Tehran and Washington to pursue “realistic, step-by-step diplomacy” to prevent further escalation.
Experts believe any breakthrough in U.S.-Iran dialogue would have significant implications for oil markets, global security cooperation, and regional trust-building.
