Tianjin (TASSAWAR NEWS) – Chinese President Xi Jinping has said that the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) is moving forward on the principles of mutual trust and shared benefit.
Speaking at the ongoing SCO Summit in Tianjin, President Xi stated that the organization has grown into a “flourishing tree” over time, with vast potential for cooperation among member states in various sectors. He emphasized that member nations must seize opportunities in trade and economic development.
Highlighting China’s commitment, Xi revealed that trade between China and its SCO partners has surpassed $2.3 trillion. He further announced that China will provide 10 billion yuan in loans to member states.
Proposing the establishment of an SCO Development Bank, Xi underlined the importance of strengthening trade and connectivity to secure a prosperous common future. He added that China will work closely with SCO members to elevate the regional security forum to new heights.
The two-day summit is being attended by heads of state from 20 countries. Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will present Pakistan’s perspective, highlighting global issues and proposing measures to enhance SCO’s role in promoting regional cooperation and stability.
