UK and Five European Nations Oppose Israel’s Gaza Occupation Plan

London (Tassawar News) The United Kingdom, along with five other European countries, has voiced strong opposition to Israel’s reported plan to establish long-term control over Gaza, warning that such a move would violate international law and further destabilize the region.

In a joint statement released today, the foreign ministers of the UK, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, and the Netherlands expressed “deep concern” over reports that Israeli authorities are considering measures aimed at asserting permanent authority over the Palestinian enclave.

“We categorically reject any attempt to alter Gaza’s status through force or unilateral action,” the statement read. “An occupation of Gaza would only prolong the cycle of violence, exacerbate the humanitarian crisis, and undermine prospects for a just and lasting peace.”

The coalition of European nations reiterated their support for a two-state solution, calling for an immediate ceasefire, the withdrawal of Israeli forces from populated areas, and the urgent delivery of humanitarian aid to civilians trapped in the conflict zone.

The statement comes amid intensified Israeli military operations in Gaza, which have led to widespread destruction, displacement of thousands of residents, and severe shortages of essential supplies. Human rights groups have warned that continued escalation risks triggering a broader regional conflict.

Israel has not officially confirmed any long-term occupation plans, but senior officials have stated that military operations will continue until “all security objectives are met,” including the dismantling of armed groups in Gaza.

Palestinian authorities have welcomed the European stance, urging the international community to apply diplomatic pressure on Israel to halt its military campaign and return to negotiations.

Analysts say the unified opposition from six major European powers marks one of the strongest coordinated challenges to Israeli policy from Western allies in recent years, potentially straining Israel’s diplomatic ties with parts of Europe.
