ISLAMABAD (Tassawar News) In a key diplomatic engagement aimed at reinforcing bilateral cooperation, President Asif Ali Zardari and Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian met at the Aiwan-e-Sadr on Sunday, pledging to expand collaboration across political, economic, and regional security spheres.

President Zardari welcomed the Iranian head of state with warmth, hailing the visit as a pivotal moment in strengthening the long-standing partnership between Pakistan and Iran. The two leaders engaged in in-depth dialogue, focusing on shared strategic interests and ongoing developments across the region.

Shared Vision for Regional Stability

The two presidents underscored the importance of joint efforts to de-escalate tensions and resolve disputes through dialogue. They agreed that greater coordination among neighboring countries was essential to safeguard peace and stability in an increasingly volatile regional landscape.

President Zardari lauded Tehran’s consistent commitment to regional diplomacy and acknowledged Iran’s unwavering support for peaceful engagement during times of crisis. He expressed deep appreciation for Iran’s expressions of solidarity with Pakistan during challenging periods.

“Our brotherly ties are founded on centuries of shared values, faith, and mutual trust,” said President Zardari. “We are committed to working together for the collective well-being of our peoples and the wider region.”

Support for Kashmir and Iran’s Sovereignty

Reaffirming Pakistan’s firm stance on global justice, President Zardari thanked Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei for his continuous advocacy for the people of Jammu and Kashmir, who remain under Indian occupation. He described Iran’s position as one of moral clarity and international responsibility.

He also issued a sharp condemnation of recent Israeli military actions targeting Iran, praising the Iranian people for their resilience during the 12-day conflict. “Iran has demonstrated remarkable courage and unity in the face of aggression,” Zardari remarked.

Iran Recognizes Pakistan’s Role in Peace Efforts

President Pezeshkian expressed his gratitude for Pakistan’s proactive role in promoting diplomacy and reducing tensions during the recent crisis. He credited Islamabad’s efforts with contributing to a broader push for peaceful solutions across the Middle East.

“Pakistan’s balanced and responsible approach has always been a stabilizing force in the region,” President Pezeshkian said. He also praised the historical, cultural, and religious bonds between the two nations, which continue to guide their mutual cooperation.
